The management of HÜBNER Group are very pleased to announce that Dr. Håkan Karlsson has been appointed as Head of HÜBNER Photonics as of 1st September 2018. In this new role, Dr Karlsson will lead all the HÜBNER Group’s laser activities worldwide.

In 2001 Håkan co-foundered the well-known laser company, Cobolt AB based in Stockholm, Sweden. In the years following, he led the start-up to become a well-established market player in the laser industry. In 2015 Cobolt became part of the HÜBNER Group, which lead to the formation of the HÜBNER Photonics division. “It’s an exciting and motivating challenge and I am looking forward to continue consolidating and expanding the HÜBNER Photonics division in order to serve our customers with excellent products and with the best possible service in the coming years” says Dr Karlsson.

HÜBNER Photonics is the newest division of the HÜBNER Group, a 70 year old family-owned company turning over > €300 M and headquartered in Kassel, Germany.

Cobolt AB, a part of HÜBNER Photonics, proudly highlights the addition of a new wavelength of 640 nm to the Cobolt 05-01 Series of single frequency lasers. With up to 500 mW and a linewidth of <1 MHz, the Cobolt Bolero™ is ideal for holographic and advanced interferometric applications. The Cobolt Bolero™ complements Cobolt’s current offering of RGB single frequency lasers: Cobolt Flamenco™ 660 nm with up to 500 mW, Cobolt Samba™ 532 nm with up to 1.5 W and Cobolt Twist™ 457 nm with up to 200 mW.

Cobolt AB, a part of HÜBNER Photonics, proudly market releases the Cobolt Skyra™, a revolutionary multi-line laser platform. With up to 4 wavelengths permanently aligned in a single compact package (70 x 134 x 38 mm) and requiring no external electronics, the Cobolt Skyra™ will enable the next generation of compact and easy-to-use analytical instrumentation for the life science market.

The laser is built using Cobolt’s proprietary HTCure™ manufacturing technology for ultimate robustness in a compact, hermetically sealed package. HTCure™ results in an ultra-stable, permanent alignment of optical elements, with very precise and stable overlap of the combined output beams. As a result, Cobolt lasers have proven to deliver unmatched reliability and performance both in the lab and industrial environments with demonstrated lifetime capability of >60 000 hours and several thousand units installed in the field.

Cobolt Skyra™

Cobolt AB, a part of HÜBNER Photonics, introduces the Cobolt 08-NLD 405 nm frequency stabilized, Narrow linewidth Laser Diode with up to 30 mW and including an integrated optical isolator. With totally integrated electronics, the compact Cobolt 08-NLD 405 nm is easily incorporated into high end Raman based systems or other analytical instrumentation.

Also available in the 08-01 Series is the Cobolt 08-DPL 532 nm (diode pumped laser), either with or without an optical isolator, Cobolt 08-DPL 561 nm and the Cobolt 08-NLD 785 nm. The Cobolt 08-DPL 532 nm and 561 nm are truly SLM with excellent spectral purity and wavelength stability while the Cobolt 08-NLD 785 nm is a narrow linewidth laser with up to 500 mW.

Cobolt 08-NLD 405 nm

Cobolt AB, a part of HÜBNER Photonics, introduces higher powers on a number of the laser lines offered in the Cobolt 06-01 Series. The Series offers high performance, directly modulatable cw lasers ranging in wavelengths from 405 nm – 660 nm. The large spectral coverage combined with the compact form factor and direct modulation capability make the Cobolt 06-01 Series ideal for demanding life science applications.

The Cobolt 06-01 Series consists of a mix of modulated diode lasers (06-MLDs) and diode-pumped lasers (06-DPLs). The notable power increases now released on the 06-MLDs are at 405 nm, now with up to 300 mW, 473 nm also with up to 300 mW and 638 mW with up to 180 mW. All the Cobolt MLDs offer a market leading combination of modulation extinction ratios (>10 000 000:1) and high speed (up to 150MHz). Complementing the modulated diode lasers (MLDs), the diode pumped lasers in the same series (06-DPLs) are available at 532 nm, 553 nm and 561 nm with up to 200 mW output power and offer direct intensity modulation (analog and digital) at up to 50 kHz.
