Cobolt Odin™ has been nominated as a finalist in SPIE’s Prism Award 2015!

We are happy to announce that our new product Cobolt Odin™ has been nominated as one of the finalists in the Prism Award 2015. Cobolt Odin™ is a compact and industrially robust tunable Mid-IR source in the 2-5um range with high power addressing the lack of industrially suitable sources for gas sensing and environmental monitoring in that part of the spectrum.

Cobolt Odin™ has been nominated in the category “Industrial Lasers” along with two other qualified entries from JDSU and IPG Photonics. We are excited to know the winner who will be announced at the exhibition Photonics West on February 11th.

Higher power Cobolt MLD lasers on the 06-01 Series

Cobolt AB announces higher powers of its Cobolt MLD compact diode laser modules at 473nm, 488nm, 638nm on the 06-01 Series platform. The 06-01 Series offers a standardised compact form factor and a wide wavelength span in a plug and play format, utilising the most ideal laser technology to achieve the wavelength whilst maintaining the form factor.

The Cobolt MLD lasers are now available at 473nm with up to 100mW, 488nm with up to 200mW and 638nm with up to 140mW. All Cobolt MLD lasers feature market leading direct intensity modulation capability in terms of speed and depth and can be modulated up to 150MHz and with up to 10 000 000:1 extinction ratio. Manufactured using Cobolt?s unique HTCure technology ensures world-class quality, reliability and lifetime, as well as unmatched robustness.

Cobolt Rumba: Compact single frequency performance at 1064 nm on the 04-01 Series

Cobolt AB announces the release of a compact, Class 3B model of the single frequency Cobolt Rumba 1064 nm.

The laser is now available with up to 400 mW CW output power on the 04-01 Series, offering a more compact footprint than the 05-01 Series. The Cobolt Rumba 1064 nm is perfectly suited to advanced analytical applications requiring stable single frequency operation such as Raman spectroscopy.

Cobolt’s ultra compact SLM DPL’s at 532nm and 561nm are now available with even higher powers. The Cobolt DPL 532nm is available with output powers of 200mW, while the Cobolt DPL 561nm is available with output powers of 100mW.

The 06-01 Series offers a standardised compact form factor and a wide wavelength span in a plug and play format, utilising the most ideal laser technology to achieve the wavelength whilst maintaining the form factor.

Cobolt proudly introduces Cobolt Pulsed Lasers – Q-switched lasers and Mid-IR OPOs

Cobolt AB announces the release of a new family of pulsed lasers. The Cobolt Pulsed Lasers consist of two series: the Cobolt Tor Series of high performance Q-switched lasers at 532 nm and 1064 nm, and the Cobolt Odin Series of compact and tunable Mid infrared OPOs.

Applications for the Cobolt Tor Series lasers includes range finding, LIBS, Raman-LIDAR, micromachining and micromarking and for the Cobolt Odin Series lasers include trace gas analysis in pollution control for the petrochemical, automotive and energy production industries.

Congratulations to the winners of the award for the best Master’s Thesis 2012/2013 in Optics and Photonics

Cobolt AB applauds the winners of the award for the best Master’s Thesis 2012/2013 in Optics and Photonics, Johan Simonsson and Jonas Stenvall. The prizes, sponsored by Cobolt, were awarded at the conference on Optics and Photonics in Sweden 2013 on the 22nd of October.

Johan Simonsson received the first prize, with his Master of Science Thesis Development of a diode laser based setup for extinction measurements in sooting flames performed at the institute of Combustion Physics, Lund University. The second prize was awarded to Jonas Stenvall, for his Master of Science Thesis Fluorescence Holography performed at Division of Fluid and Experimental Mechanics at the Technical University at Luleå.

Cobolt AB announces the release of the Cobolt DPL lasers, ultra-compact SLM DPSS lasers at 532nm and 561nm, on the 06-01 Series platform. The 06-01 Series offers a standardised compact form factor and a wide wavelength span in a plug and play format, utilising the most ideal laser technology to achieve the wavelength whilst maintaining the form factor.

The Cobolt DPL lasers inherently have the outstanding performance that is associated with DPSS technology, such as SLM, perfect beam quality and excellent wavelength precision (± 0.3 nm) and now complements the wavelength offering in the 06-01 Series format to include green and yellow wavelengths. The compact format and the fully integrated control electronics of all lasers on the Cobolt 06-01 Series, make them the most flexible choice of laser for system integration. Manufactured using Cobolt’s unique HTCure Technology ensures world-class quality reliability and lifetime, as well as unmatched robustness.

The Cobolt DPL532nm is available with output powers of 25mW, 50mW & 100mW, while the Cobolt DPL 561nm is available with output powers of 25mW & 50mW.
